What you'll be doing

Develops department actions plans and yearly budget that supports the company strategic plans. Develops and implements best practice concepts to ensure the effectiveness and cohesion of both the driver recruiting and safety functions. Ensures documents, forms and materials are up to date, legal, and adhered to accordingly. Oversees and conducts safety related events, as needed. Ensures safety recognition programs are implemented and administered properly. Works closely with all department heads on driver related issues, processes, programs, rules, and guidelines as needed. Provides monthly reports (or as needed) to company president regarding safety and recruiting (to include driver orientation); develops metrics for measuring trends, action plans, and accountability. Other duties as may be assigned as necessary.

What your background should be

Minimum 10 years of recent progressive safety experience, 7 years safety management within a large truckload environment. Proven leadership skills; visionary and strategic thinker. Driver recruiting experienced preferred. Budgeting experience necessary. Legal background helpful. Excellent work history with proven track record. Strong computer/PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Required Schooling / Training

College degree required.
