What you'll be doing

Perform assigned maintenance and repair of mechanical systems in a safe, reliable, economical and environmentally sound manner. Candidate is responsible to perform assigned maintenance activities independently or work within a team or group setting as needed. Applicant has to represent the supervisor at scheduled meetings; delegate work to ensure schedule compliance on assigned projects and outages; organize and layout blocks of work to support project scheduling tools. Maintenance and repair of plant mechanical equipment and systems; including valves, valve operators, pumps, motors, air compressors, generators, turbines, gear reducers, heat exchangers, condensers, etc.. Demonstrating work practices associated with shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, precision tools, hoists and rigging. Responsibility for the condition, safe-keeping and security of assigned tooling and materials. Actively engage in development planning that will lay the foundation for consideration for supervisory positions in the future which could include re-location. Establish technical specifications and procedures on assigned equipment. Assist in the control of quality and productivity; ensure work procedures, schedules and specifications are followed. Lead good housekeeping standards on a continual basis and ensure no reportable incidents regarding housekeeping occur with the area of responsibility. Prepare and deliver target subject presentations as required.

What your background should be

The candidate should have 4 to 6 years of directly related experience. Successful completion of the power plant maintenance selection system (MASS) aptitude testing is required for this position. Basic knowledge of rigging, including the proper use of ropes and slings. Basic knowledge of work practices using shop equipment, hand tools, power tools, precision tools and hoists. Must have effective report writing skills; sound interpersonal skills. Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear access. Must have valid driving license.

Required Schooling / Training

Associate degree.
