What you'll be doing
- Take care of the tooling needs for the daily operation of the machine shop. Order and maintain inventory to an expectable level and work with the machining manager to reduce the amount of inventory. Work with the operators on tooling wear and educate them on when and when not to change tooling; inspect what is returned to you and make a disposition. Measure all tools leaving the crib with the pre-setter. Preparation of jobs for setup in the machines, which includes: pulling the dedicated tool holders, inspection gauging, and completion of all paperwork necessary in order to place them in the tool carts and stage them for the approved area. Maintaining all returned tooling for jobs already run; tooling should be inspected for damage, fixed/corrected, and returned to their proper location. Manage and take care of all re-sharpening needs for the shop and be responsible for what comes and goes from the building and where it is. Assist the engineering department in the creation of Zoller programs (i.e. taking photos of tool holders for setup sheets). Work with the purchasing department on receiving materials at plant II. Work with the machining supervisor to assure there are no conflicts with tooling or supplies that will interrupt the machining schedule and is proactive to the machine shop needs. Cares for and keeps gauges in the tool crib and provides a location in the system for them. Any other duties deemed necessary by the machining manager.

- Ability to follow work instructions. Math skills add, subtract, multiply, divide, geometry, trigonometry. Writing skills able to clearly communicate through the written word. Reading skills-able to understand written instructions.
