What you'll be doing

Assist QA manager in daily review of HACCP and pre-requisite program documentation. Follow up on audits/inspection and assign corrective actions to ensure issues are corrected in a timely manner. Develop, document, and train on processes and procedures related to food safety and quality. Serve as back-up SQF Practitioner and HACCP coordinator. Monitor and enforce compliance with GMP policy. Provide direction, training, and develop for quality assurance inspectors and assistants regarding responsibilities and growth. Perform routine internal GMP audits of the facility and audits of written programs to ensure that the facility is being maintained in accordance with GMP and that written programs are being followed. Provide GMP/food safety training to FFM team members. Perform USDA generic label approval for any changes to USDA regulated labels. Develop in process testing methods to ensure products are meeting finished product specifications. Train QA team on these testing methods. Identify non-conforming products and serve as a person for input on making decisions about dispositions of those products based on the risk to food safety and quality. Ensure that all records related to quality and food safety are maintained and easily accessible for inspection/audit purposes. Create finished product and raw material specifications. Conduct shelf life studies on all finished goods on qualifying runs as well as existing products for continuing improvement purposes. Participate in monthly and quarterly self-inspections. Participate in production meetings to gain an understanding of what changes are coming and what policies or procedures may need updating.

What your background should be

Quality assurance experience licenses / certifications required. HACCP certification is required. Experience required 3 to 5 years manufacturing experience required. Must have experience in USDA, FDA, GFSI, PA dept. of food & agriculture regulations. Experience desired 5+ years food manufacturing management and quality assurance experience. Experience in auditing food manufacturing facilities for food safety or previous QA management experience.
