What you'll be doing
- Assists in the development and implementation of living- learning communities to help new students acclimate to life at the university and the residence halls. Establishes strong collaborative relationships with all LLC partners by providing support to them in carrying out the mission of their community for the well-being and success of the students. Participates in on-going recruitment of new LLC campus and community partners. Engages in effective communication with LLC partners through formal and informal meetings, and email to encourage their continued investment in the LLCs and involvement in the residence halls. Assists in the development, implementation, and administration of developmentally-based and comprehensive system-wide academic success programs such as residence hall tutoring, supplemental instruction, early warning alert system for residence hall students, etc. Supports student academic success and provides students with a supportive and dynamic on-campus living learning environment. Creates educational opportunities to increase students success in the classroom. Develops, implements, and administers programs to support company growing residential international student population. Develops, implements, and administers residence hall diversity initiatives that promote strong community, inclusivity, and respect. Assists in the development of passive programming to raise resident awareness on educational topics such as physical health, emotional well-being, campus involvement, sexual assault resources, campus offices, and personal development.
What your background should be
- Typically 6 months or 1 year related administrative, program and living learning communities experience in a college setting. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) software applications. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Ability to effectively transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs through appropriate communication methods and behaviors at a working proficiency level. Strong leadership and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor's degree.
