What you'll be doing

Interpret and apply regional and global product safety standards to finished wheeled goods products, attachments and accessories. Perform inspections and physical testing outlined in applicable standards (i.e., ANSI, CPSC, SAE, EN, ISO, UL, MTD internal standards) to verify compliance, both during the product development process and once it is in production. Evaluate products based on general product safety principles applied to other products containing similar potential hazards and risks. Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, components, assemblies and whole goods products to measure performance, durability and material characteristics. Interpret and record testing results and evaluate data and prepare written test reports which confirm compliance and/or any deviations. Assist in the development and fabrication of test fixtures. Support engineering and design by proposing potential solutions to compliance related issues. Keep current with technical advancements and worldwide regulations/standards.

What your background should be

Preferably have experience (minimum 3 years) working in a standards, testing or quality role. Go beyond the literal wording of a requirement to understand the intent and rationale behind it. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Be proficient in MS Office applications. Possess thorough and consistent documentation habits paired with excellent organizational skills.
