What you'll be doing
- Monitor weekly processes to insure accurate commission processing. This includes batch processing, control table monitoring and travel agents information uploads into the central commission system. Analyze and compare reservation to central commission data to track trends and inconsistencies. Create access databases and advanced Excel spreadsheets to help analyze commission data. Ensure all central commissions processes are documented by creating SOPs (standard operating procedures). Serve as contact point for internal and external inquiries regarding travel agent commissions. Gather information to identify concerns or areas for improvement. Complete research to provide resolution and/or recommendation for process improvement. Provide customer service to travel agencies, consortia, travel management companies, franchisees and internal employees regarding all aspects of travel agent commissions. Work on projects to streamline commission reporting process to travel agent and franchisee.
What your background should be
- Minimum 3+ years of reporting and analytical experience is required. Advanced Excel and MS Access knowledge required (must understand pivot tables, formulas, Vlookup and Macros). Knowledge of database design and structure (Access, Oracle, SQL). Experience with micro strategy reporting tool a plus. Basic understanding of process modeling using Visio. Must be able to make judgment calls regarding the resolution of issues. Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively in order to meet deadlines. Demonstrate ability to effectively work with all levels within the company, including executive management. Multi-task on competing priorities which are all deadline sensitive. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Required Schooling / Training
- Bachelor's degree in information systems and accounting.
