What you'll be doing

The server analyst is accountable for analyzing installing and testing mid-range to large computing equipment. Analyzes installing and maintaining multi-platform operating system software and associated software systems on all data center platforms. This includes the performance tuning and capacity planning of this software to ensure the scheduled availability of the multi-platform network and end user applications to enhance the productivity of the company business functions and efficiency. Ensures procedures are documented for future problem tracking and reference for future installation and maintenance projects. Analyzes failures of multi-platform software, hardware and databases and implements corrective procedures for these failures with detailed problem tracking documentation. Assists with the set-up and deployment of new hardware or software. Provides backup and recovery procedures for multi-platform software, hardware and databases and ensures documentation of procedures are established to ensure disaster recovery functions. Captures and reports asset information in accordance with established procedures. Provides 24-hour, 7-day on-call support, as needed. Performs departmental administrative tasks, such as writing status reports on time, keeping the director of infrastructure support informed of requests from other ITS teams for staffing needs. Proactively monitors end user application environment taking necessary actions to prevent interruptions of end user work. Assists with special projects as necessary share critical information with peers and assists in the process of keeping procedures and documentation current and accurate.

What your background should be

3 to 5 years experience in server administration and support for large scale computer systems environment. Server engineer specializing around HP-UX or AIX is preferred. Ability to assist computing and storage manager in a fast-paced support environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of Microsoft server 2008, 2013 network, LAN and telecommunications. Strong customer service skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated technical aptitude with strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot problems. Excellent decision making and problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable working with people at all levels of the organization. Well organized, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at a time. Able to learn new hardware and software technology quickly.

Required Schooling / Training

4 year degree.
