What you'll be doing
- The candidate will maintain attractive, clean and healthy campus environment. The candidate will mop, clean and disinfect restroom and shower room with responsibility for replenish supply; wash door, glass and mirror; polish metal fixture; empty and clean wastebasket; vacuum rug. The candidate will perform cleaning duty in office, classroom, laboratory, auditorium, gymnasium, restroom, lounge, hallway and other area of a campus facility to maintain campus aesthetic. The candidate will sweep, mop, wax, dust, clean and polish floor, stair, hallway, corridor, wall, moulding and window sill; dust, clean, wax and will polish furniture, woodwork, light fixture, blind, blackboard, fill cabinet and other area so these area are comfortable and safe for student, staff and faculty. The candidate will also make report on building and equipment need and will be responsible for the security of one or more assigned area.
What your background should be
- Six months of experience in a custodial cleaning operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience; specific experience with the operation and use of vacuum cleaners, buffers, wall washing machines, shampoo machines, wet or dry vacuums, waxers, floor scrubbing or polishing machines, stripping, waxing, buffing or other related cleaning operations. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Able to follow verbal and written instructions. Able to physically perform custodial tasks which require bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, stretching and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must successfully pass a background check through the department of justice and complete a pre employment, post offer physical examination.
