What you'll be doing
- Assesses, plans and evaluates the nursing care needs of the patient in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period. Provides comfort and support for post-operative patients. Evaluates responses to treatments and interventions. Carries out physician orders. Anticipates case specific needs based on knowledge of procedure and pathophysiology regarding patient and procedure. Manages pain of patient. Administers prescribed medications and monitors vital signs. Maintains aseptic technique and actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
What your background should be
- Current FL RN License. Current certification as a BLS and ACLS certification thru AHA. Previous critical care experience preferred. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
