Quality Assurance/Site Safety Manager

What you'll be doing
- Manages quality assurance of planning, installation, testing, implementation and management of the contractors installing at which involves underground utilities, fiber optic cabling, network infrastructure and various instrumentation support components. Ensures that all supporting contractors comply and apply conventional engineering practices to identify and resolve operational or design issues for inside and outside cable plant and network systems in accordance with i3mp standards. Follows infrastructure installation guidance to install, test and implement systems required in the PWS and engineering design plan. The qa/qc will review the documents and reports that use CADD applications and troubleshooting reports that measure the infrastructure using OTDR, source and detect equipment, surveying and measuring devices. Inspects the installation of buried and underground plant to include, copper and fiber cables, pair gain equipment, pole lines, etc. Per practices and procedures. Works closely with engineering and construction companies to completion of the assignment. Enforces schedules and processes to complete the i3mp project build on time, validate conformance to all carrier standards and municipality requirements, responsible for all billing aspects related to the build. Generates the required reports. The site safety manager (SSM) will be charged with conducting site visits with the goal of assessing and mitigating hazardous work conditions and ensures site workers are trained and equipped to mitigate. Manages OSP/ISP infrastructure quality assurance program. Develops QA process and ensures compliance to i3mp and industry standards. Assists the project manager to develop and manage health and safety policies, standards, procedures and practices. Observe and evaluate contractor safety compliance and ensure all contracted personnel are properly trained in site safety requirements and procedures. Reviews safety policies, procedures, and safety performance. Conduct accident and near-miss investigations conducts comprehensive safety audits and inspections and recommends actions for the correction of hazardous situations for compliance with OSHA regulations familiarity with applicable OSHA, state and federal regulations covering all aspects of safety and health in the construction industry is necessary.
What your background should be
- RCDD and BICSI certifications preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in the field with responsibility performing OSP/ISP QA and directing field personnel on resolution of safety issues. Health and safety management on communication infrastructure projects desirable. Experience with MS Project, Excel, Word are required.
