What you'll be doing
- Build department sales by answering question and assist guest with purchase. Make recommendation to guest on type of cut, method of preparation and meal suggestion. Determine cutting need based on guest demand. Custom cut meat product according to guest request. Cut and process all fresh meat product according to quality specification. Receive, verify and store department delivery. Package and price product. Rotate and cull product to ensure freshness. Scan waste to ensure accurate shrink record. Grind meat follow prescribed procedure. Promote various product prepare and offer sample. Set and maintain service and self service case. Clean and sanitize department, equipment, work area, service area, container and utensil. Follow safe food handling and personal hygiene practice. Ensure all product, ready to heat item and special order prepare to specification. Adhere to client companies all policy, practice and procedure. Build strong working relationship with guest, vendor and associate. Exemplify key concept of hospitality when interact with guest.
What your background should be
- Knowledge of various cuts of beef, pork, veal, lamb and poultry. Knowledge of preparation of various cuts and types of meats and poultry. Food safety certification preferred. Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and listening skills. Proficient selling skills, including the ability to ask questions, listen and make product recommendations. Proficient merchandising skills to ensure fresh and appealing service and self service displays. Proficient cleaning abilities to meet sanitation and visual standards.
Required Schooling / Training
- High school diploma.
