What you'll be doing
- Prepares meat and seafood department for store opening and closing. Prepares, cuts, wraps, weighs, tares, prices and presents meat and seafood department products. Stocks, rotates and faces products with attention to product quality and expiration dates. Records and handles shrink, damaged and past-date product according to company policy. Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count and condition. Communicates any issues to management and merchandising team. Maintains cleanliness, organization and rotation of all areas, products and supplies. Maintains accurate pricing and signage that meet merchandising standards. Understands and complies with specific shift guidelines, tasks and responsibilities. May participate in inventories. Reads and understands product and merchandizer information. Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays and events. Engages the customer in a friendly manner, shares product Information, assists in locating product throughout the store, seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience.
What your background should be
- Due to federal and state regulations, must be at least 18 years of age. Restaurant, customer service or similar experience preferred. Self-motivated, with high attention to detail, quality and presentation. Ability to calculate tare weight allowances. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers.
