What you'll be doing

Utilize existing business building tool and program to increase sales, increase customer count and retain customer. Promote and sell service and product, including recommending and selling additional service or retail product which will enhance and improve the customer image or contribute to the customer satisfaction with service performed. Develop and maintain local business relationship. Maintain professional appearance and a positive attitude. Provide exceptional customer service. Understand the need of customer; handle and resolve customer service issue to maintain customer loyalty. Conduct quality consultation by suggesting hairstyle according to physical feature of the customer, current style or from the customer instruction. Communicate to the customer a clear understanding of the pricing before service perform. Display a sound understanding and perform all available service in a competent, efficient and professional manner. Coach and develop the team through existing customer service training program. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with peer, salon personnel and home office personnel, as well as landlord, property manager, licensor and beauty school. Manage and control expense. Create weekly salon schedule and direct change using available scheduling and forecasting tool to ensure acceptable wait time and achieve payroll goal. Audit salon to ensure employee charge correctly for service and product. Work with supervisor, loss prevention and law enforcement to recover asset. Maintain professional appearance and a positive attitude. Train and provide guidance to employee on the use of all business operating system including, but not limited to, point of sale system. Discipline and terminate staff when appropriate with the approval of the area supervisor. Ensure closing procedure adhere to and daily bank deposit are made. Ensure the cleanliness of the salon and that the salon comply with all applicable state and local sanitation rule. Perform a variety of task related to salon operation.

What your background should be

Ability to work a minimum of 35 hours per week on a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Occasional overtime may be required. Valid current cosmetology license, to include a manager license as required by local cosmetology regulation. Position may require the stylist to work alone in the salon. Ability to work in a dynamic salon environment. Good time management skills, good judgment and the ability to multi task. Strong leadership qualities, motivated and respected; with a demonstrated ability to supervise and coach. Well developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with subordinate, peer, supervisor and client. Ability to read, digest and analyze various reports, including but not limited to various sales reports, time reports and loss prevention reports. Mathematical skills to accurately compute and complete required functions. Computer knowledge including, but not limited to, point of sale system.
