What you'll be doing

Startup machines include operator PM procedures and change tooling as required. Load and operate machine properly following established operating procedures, specific work instructions, or instructions from supervisor or lead person. Verify parts meet print specifications and check frequently during the shift per work instructions. Adjust offsets if required or obtain assistance to bring the part to print specification. Replace tooling when worn or broken, and record in tool history. Operate several CNC machines simultaneously. Perform first-piece inspections and various unsupervised routine inspections, visually or with the use of checking devices. Prepare work area. Check and fill all bins. Move stock if necessary. Complete scrap tags, mark defective area and place in designated scrap carts. Prepare all finished units for shipment. Maintain a safe and clean work area complying with procedures. This includes mopping, sweeping, emptying mop and water buckets, and cleaning machines.

What your background should be

Must possess the ability to perform basic arithmetic required for charting and calculating order quantities, machine and tooling adjustments. Ability to meet production requirements, concentrate and pay attention to detail. Ability to stand 85-100% time of working. Comprehensive understanding of part defects, as well as machine operations, tooling requirements, and assembly practices. Possess written and verbal communication skills in order to provide next shift with pertinent information concerning instructions, machine operations, part shortages and schedule changes.
