What you'll be doing

Perform a variety of legal secretarial and administrative duties for assigned attorneys, many of which are unique to a legal environment and require a working knowledge of legal concepts, terminology and processes. Assist attorneys by performing secretarial work of a complex nature, which includes data entry into case tracking system, typing and handling papers and correspondence of legal nature, such as complaints, motions, subpoenas, draft discovery, electronic court filing and serving. Compose and prepare routine correspondence. Proofread legal documents. Arrange appointments, meetings, schedule depositions. Handle incoming and outgoing mail. Established and maintain physical and electronic files and records relating to administrative and litigation matters. Maintain a calendar for attorneys and assure that complete information is available for all matters.

What your background should be

Insurance Defense experience preferred. Must have knowledgeable of current legal procedures and terminology. Construction defect experience a plus. Proficient in MS Word & MS Outlook. Must have Microsoft Word, Outlook, Scheduling and Electronic filing experience.
