What you'll be doing

Provide training and orientation to instrument processors, Assist in maintaining staff competency, maintain instrument menu cards to ensure correctness and completeness. Order non-stock items according to par levels. Complete processing counts for the month, Perform QA checks on processed items to assist in keeping a high standard of quality. Direct workflow of instrument processors to ensure quality, efficiency and management of department work. Perform, incubate, interpret and record biological test results according to procedure. Implement recall procedure when a positive is discovered. Efficiently, inspect, test, and assemble, wrap, surgical and non-surgical instrument and equipment using menu card. Assuring that filters, locks and proper indicators are in place for processing assurance. Operate steam, gas, and aeration equipment in accordance to policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

What your background should be

Ability to train sterile processing technicians. Excellent written and oral communication skills to provide high customer service levels. Ability to maintain calm and quality of work during high volume periods of stressful situations. Basic computer and recordkeeping skills. Provide work direction and training for sterile processing technicians to supply the hospital with clean patient equipment, sterile surgical and non-surgical instruments, appropriate surgical or medical procedure case carts and trays, and maintain a safe working environment consistent with OSHA, CDC, FDA AND AAMI recommendations.
