What you'll be doing
- Analyzing clients current financial management processes and operations through research and client interviews. Planning and conducting benchmarking of financial management operations to target areas for improvement. Defining and developing models to analyze financial management costs to target areas for improvement. Leading staff in documenting clients current and future processes both graphically (process maps, diagrams) and with written text. Developing creative solutions to transform financial management operations based on individual client needs. Conducting cost benefit analyzes. Supporting the development of methodologies to address specific financial management issues. Leading parts of the implementation of financial management transformation recommendations.
What your background should be
- Five or more years of work experience in consulting or a related industry, with emphasis on financial management, accounting and/or budgeting. Experience managing small teams in advising clients and presenting solutions.5+ years experience in accounting/finance in the federal space to include consulting experience in support of any of the following financial areas: business process improvement, financial management policies and procedures, PPBE, financial system integrations, etc. 3+ years experience working directly with GS-15 level and SIS/SES clients. Certified government financial manager (CGFM) or certified defense financial manager (CDFM), are advantageous. Familiarity with U.S. government and DoD financial accounting systems.
