What you'll be doing

Develops goals and objectives and manages and executes all company events. Manages peer to peer fundraising projects. Provides high-level event analysis and strategy. Manages all assigned events from concept to completion including, but not limited to, venue, talent, speakers, transportation, logistics, audience development, sponsorship, procurement, audience development, reports, budgeting, tracking of income/expenses and post-event analysis. Build and manages committee volunteers to support events. Establishes short and long-term goals, strategies, and tasks for assigned events. Identifies and secures sponsorship and in-kind contributions of goods and services. Prepares and manages assigned event budgets, invoicing, and revenue reports. Works closely with the national director of development (NDOD) and national communications and publication director who will manage design and production of printed materials for assigned events. This includes slide shows, invitations, posters, programs, mailings etc. Negotiates and manages all contract correspondence for assigned events, including production for all assigned special events (if applicable). Communicates and directs roles and responsibilities in support of assigned events to related staff as applicable. Supports other development projects as needed.

What your background should be

A minimum three or five years of experience with events in a non-profit organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in word, excel, outlook required; familiarity with database software. Demonstrated experience with fundraising and event ownership in a non-profit sector position. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, governmental regulations, safety rules, operating and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or volunteers of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Required Schooling / Training

Bachelor degree.
