Director of Housekeeping

What you'll be doing

Coordinate the scheduling and oversight of the housekeeping and laundry departments. Directly control keys according to company policies. Inspect and tour all public areas several times daily to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and order are maintained. Responsible for hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating performance of the housekeeping and laundry departments. Maintain a highly motivated and trained staff keeping turnover to a minimum. Assist in annual budget preparation and adhere to budgetary guidelines. Develop a master cleaning schedule and administer accordingly. Meet with new residents to discuss housekeeping scheduling preferences and available services. Monitor residents concerns and take corrective action promptly. Coordinate and assist in the set-up of rooms for marketing, dining, lifestyle, corporate or other functions. Order and monitor all housekeeping and laundry inventories to ensure adequate supplies are readily available not to exceed budgetary guidelines. Report observations regarding structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctioning equipment and any needed repairs to the executive director. Inspect and coordinate the make-ready of all apartments prior to occupancy by residents. Other duties as assigned by ED.

What your background should be

Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial cleaning operations, preferably in a hospitality industry. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

Required Schooling / Training

Associate degree.
