What you'll be doing

Independently determines technical factors for X-Ray and ultrasound (i.e., calculates the correct exposure factors of time, distance, kilo voltage, and milliamp rage), sets controls, and operates equipment safely to provide quality images. Incumbent follows standard operating procedures to perform x-rays, ultrasound, phlebotomy, and EKG to assist in the diagnosis of illness or injury. Ability to occasionally deviate from standard procedures is necessary to adapt for deformities of body, injuries, and other variable considerations such as age, weight, and physical condition of the patient. Incumbent is responsible for direct patient care activities under the supervision of the RN/HCP. Includes point of care laboratory testing, phlebotomy and EKG. Independently operates diagnostic ultrasound, X-ray, PACS and EKG equipment and other computer-based equipment (i.e. computed radiography reader, mini-lab analyzer, computer, CD importer etc.).

What your background should be

The candidate should have 1 year of experience equivalent field. Candidate must demonstrate the following technical KSAs and demonstrate the potential to acquire the assignment. Skill to demonstrate appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from the medical record. Knowledge of basic first aid and basic life support practices related to radiography; knowledge of physical assessment, aseptic techniques, intravenous skills, and universal precautions.
