What you'll be doing
- The manager coordinate vendor issue with procurement and manufacturing for material to support repair. Responsible for interface with the production planning function on a daily basis and provide leadership and vision for the repair organization to help it grow. Manage all aspect of repair, including customer interface and profit and loss. Drive financial performance in repair through the creation of strategic program for continuous improvement. Coordinate with production, provide estimate (labor, material, other direct charges, etc.) to complete repair. Work with the finance organization and monitor performance to ETC (estimate to complete) on all job. Provide senior management with monthly status report at monthly management program review or monthly division operation. Review concerning the health of the repair business. Drive the repair process in manufacturing to ensure the function is both profitable and customer satisfaction goal are met by master scheduling each customer to improve on time delivery performance. Update the CAV (commercial asset visibility) reporting system relative to repair part using in coordination with the divisional government property administrator. Define and distribute monthly or weekly repair priority to production. Supervise the creation of material requisition for the purchase of material needed to support repair. Approve all quote for vendor related repair. Coordinate with vendor to ensure the timely repair of returned material. Develop and measure metric applicable to the customer service function, report these metric to senior management on a weekly basis and present to senior management on a monthly basis. Establish metric to monitor procedure and process to detect problem and implement change. Being an active contributor to the continuous improvement effort to help the company grow. Communicate to senior management the status of all project and trend in the department. Verify status of component and delinquent material. Maintain shortage record. Coordinate and expedite the flow of part, assemble and material to production area to ensure production schedule commitment are met. Update traveler, split lot of material when needed to allow for the movement of assemble through production.
What your background should be
- 5 years of program management experience or 10 years of experience working in a repairs depot in the defense arena, with at least 5 years in a management capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Green Belt certification is preferred. Experience with cost point is preferred. Ability to supervise all levels of employee. Must have experience in the daily use of a MRP system with an understanding of the theory of how the system operates and allocates material to many projects. Must have excellent verbal communication and written communication skills.
