What you'll be doing

The primary purpose of this position is to inspect, coordinate with, and monitor community based care facilities to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and investigate complaints that do not rise to the level of neglect or abuse. Understand, evaluate, explain, and apply rules, regulations, guidelines, and policy to providers, staff, and partners related to community based care facilities. Ensure provider compliance with community based care rules, regulations, guidelines, and policies. Identify provider deficiencies and work closely with the provider and the office of licensing and regulatory oversight (OLRO), to report non-compliance with the CBC program, help determine course of action and plans of correction, if necessary based on severity. Coordinate with policy analysts, corrective action coordinators and licensors for the facilities around deficiencies. Work with case managers, adult protective services, OLRO, the office of the long-term care ombudsman and other individuals working to ensure the safety, health and independence of all oregonians (both private pay and Medicaid) living within community based care facilities.

What your background should be

Two years of experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide eligibility or compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Experience in writing investigative reports. Experience with community based care facilities. Experience communicating effectively with people over the telephone, in writing and in person including contact with clients or members of the public who have hostile or difficult personalities. Demonstrated investigatory skills. Experience testifying at hearings or in court. Ability to work independently without constant supervision and have excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.

Required Schooling / Training

BA degree.
