What you'll be doing
- The supervisor is responsible for achieving program KPI by providing quality and efficient service to customers. Provide daily direction and communication to employees in a timely, efficient and knowledgeable manner. Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures; suggest methods to improve area operations, efficiency and service to both internal and external customers. Provide statistical and performance feedback and coach on a regular basis to each team member. Advice and counsel employees that experience problems by providing appropriate coaching, direction and resolution. Ensure employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs; respond and resolve employee relations issues expressed by team members; create and maintain high quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level. Assist and support the program manager with daily operation to include: the analysis and implementation of staffing, training and scheduling. Establish work procedures and processes that support program, company and departmental standards, procedures and strategic directives. Use appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding functional area and employee concerns. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by program manager or upper management staff. Responsible for providing employees with timely and constructive feedback; developing employees to their full potential and providing challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.
What your background should be
- Three years experience in reimbursement case management, preferable in the insurance or pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Proficient in all aspects of reimbursement (i.e. benefit investigation, prior authorization, pre-certification). Past supervisory experience of at least three years. A designation as a certified case manager or licensed practical nurse or social worker is also preferred.
