What you'll be doing
- The automotive technician will perform complete disc or drum brake service including, but not limited to; hydraulic repair/replacement, attaching hardware (removal/replacement), front-end/suspension, light drive train repair, wheel bearing service, anti-lock brake/electrical and wheel/tire removal and reinstall. Perform steering and suspensions repairs and 4-wheel alignments; safely installing all new parts on customer vehicles; to include driving the sales. Remove and reinstall tires on customer vehicles; communicating problematic issues to center management. Properly operate lifting equipment, i.e. jacks, jack stands and hoists. Responsible for proper brake lathe operation, cleaning and maintenance. Assist customers in making educated decisions concerning repairs of their vehicles, including answering all questions about the need for specific recommended services and driving sales of needed repairs; to include inspection of all vehicles in the shop. Perform vehicle road tests and vehicle inspections to determine the required and/or suggested repairs based on the description of the symptoms from the customer and to determine that completed service work has addressed the needed repairs.
What your background should be
- The candidate should have experience in related field. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add and subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute rate, ratio, and percent. Must have dependable transportation to work.
Required Schooling / Training
- Hish school degree.
