What you'll be doing

Provide and maintain a high level of reliability for the full spectrum of college-owned computers and devices. Supervise the deployment specialist and Windows/Macintosh technical consultant. Provide advanced consulting services through the support center. Meet with the faculty staff support center manager to review tracking data and allocate support resources. Manage the lifecycle for computing devices, related equipment, and software. Create and maintain documentation for PCSS tasks and procedures. Maintain software and operating system images for college-owned computers. Work with the deployment specialist and coordinate with the director of personal computer support services, to specify new hardware purchases. Create and maintain software packages with the Win/Mac consultant. Manage the device management system with the deployment specialist and Win/Mac consultant.

What your background should be

A minimum of five years of information technology support experience required. Advanced troubleshooting and support experience at significant depth with Windows, Macintosh, and smart device operating systems and peripherals. In depth experience troubleshooting operating system problems, researching problems through vendor and user group documents (especially on the Web) to determine repair solutions, and implementing and verifying effective repairs. Experience troubleshooting and supporting network connectivity, printer configuration and Windows domain architecture preferred. Effective and patient oral communication skills, especially helping people at all levels of technical familiarity over the phone and in person.
