What you'll be doing

Provides leadership, supervision and accountability in a special education (SE) program, including curriculum, instruction, and professional development; organizes and supervises SE program activities. Performs duties within scope of authority and training, and in compliance with company policies and quality standards; duties may vary according to job assignment. Supervises SE programs to meet community needs and deliver high quality learning programs; assures company is in compliance with state and federal regulations, and provides a safe and healthy learning environment for company special education students. Supervises staff and assigns tasks and projects; develops staff skills, evaluates performance, and resolves workload and technical issues; trains company staff on SE programs and policies, and coordinates the training and cross-training of other company staff. Researches and provides consultation on specific SE issues; develops and presents reports on issues and solutions; coordinates with state and federal regulatory agencies. Develops SE program goals and priorities to meet the needs of the community, district priorities, and students. Tracks program accountability measures and continuous progress monitoring systems to document student performance. Provides leadership in the development of curriculum, school activities, and program components.

What your background should be

Interpreting, and applying state and federal statutes, codes, rules, and regulations. Must have supervising staff, delegating tasks and authority, and evaluating staff performance. Communicating effectively verbally and in writing. A valid Minnesota state driving license may be required.
