What you'll be doing
- Develop and manage accounting staff. Maintain the general ledger system. Assist with coordinating and planning audits and tax preparations with public accounting firm, including the compilation and preparation of supporting schedules, work papers and financial reports related to areas of responsibility. Ensure the timely and accurate compilation of monthly, quarterly & year-end accounting data. Support VP finance in establishing and monitoring proper accounting policies and procedures. Design operational procedures and workflow processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency knowledge and understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Research authoritative literature for proper treatment of accounting issues. Prepare monthly internal financial statements and assist in preparing the management discussion or analysis. Oversee stock administration and equity accounting. Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
What your background should be
- Minimum 5+ years of work experience in an accounting or finance capacity, preferably within a high-growth technology company. 3+ years of experience managing an accounting team. Big 4 experience preferred. IPO and public company experience a plus. Technical accounting skills are essential. Experience in equity accounting are a positive. Solid experience with general ledger, managing financial audits, tax, month-end and year-end close, revenue, online advertising and virtual currency. Extremely proficient in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
